Talk Event: Wednesday 10 June, 6.30-8.30pm

'The longer I look at Bryan Kneale's work, the more I see that, for all its poise and balance, it is powered by disruption. These pieces use stress and tension, thrust and counterthrust, controlled energy and contained reaction to negotiate a provisional stability between opposing forces.'
Hilary Spurling, Opposing Forces catalogue 2002, Hart Gallery, London

Selected works from the Arts Council Collection, Southbank Centre, London and related works from the sculptor's studio are brought together for the first time in 30 years at the RBS galleries. Bryan Kneale RA FRBS is recognised as a leading sculptor whose influential works have inspired generations.

Former tutor at the Royal College of Art from 1963-80, Kneale has had a number of solo exhibitions at the Whitechapel Gallery ('66), Serpentine ('78), Hart Gallery ('02 & '09) and currently has large scale outdoor works at the Cass Foundation; he has participated in group shows in London, Turin, Paris and Rome.
