RBS External Exhibition: Sculpture and works on paper by Diane Maclean

Exhibition runs: Thurs 5th May -Sun 6th September

Scottish sculptor and environmental artist Diane Maclean has created a striking outdoor sculpture of stainless steel called Mountain, with accompanying photographic images and works on paper displayed inside the Museum.
Inspired by the work of Natural History Museum scientists, Maclean's work reflects the way scientists try and understand the mineral, molecular and crystal structure of the Earth and beyond.
‘I was fascinated by the beautiful and unusual molecular structures of the minerals they are researching. The collections inspired me to create a sculpture that would truly reflect the structure of the Earth.’
